Hi, how are you?

We’ve got chickens. Lot of the them now, but it all started with one. In our case it was the chicken that came first as an Easter gift to our first daughter.

So where do you keep a chicken? “Little Chicken” as she got called started off in a large cardboard box in the kitchen. That was fine for about 3 days until she grew a bit and discovered she could jump out before we were up in the morning and you can imagine what a mess that makes.

She had to move out to her own place.

littlechickenI wont bother showing you the pictures of our first attempt at a chicken coop, that might upset my husbands fragile ego. Sooner or later, if you want happy, content chickens that give you great fresh eggs, you have to have a proper chicken coop.

Buying a ready made coop is one option but they really are expensive. It is a much better idea to build one yourself so that it fits exactly where you want it and is the size you need.

It isn’t difficult to do (according to my husband) and we saved a pile of money as well.

If you are thinking of keeping your own chickens then this is the place to start. hampton
